Identity Politics @ Hellim Cafe

Sitting at Hellim Café, we found ourselves diving deep into a passionate discussion about how challenging it is to be a Turkish Cypriot. What started as a casual conversation quickly turned into an intense exchange of frustrations and shared grievances. Voices were raised, hands gestured animatedly, and for a few heated moments, it felt like the café itself buzzed with the energy of our debate. The weight of the conversation was undeniable - centring on identity, belonging, and the unique struggles faced daily. It wasn’t just a discussion; it was a collective release, a moment of solidarity in navigating the complexities of being a Turkish Cypriot in today’s world.
